Starting on the issue that it is not a binary-single file but XML little tiny files. Other different issue is that I think that in benefit of HIG, some projects are abusing of gconf-editor and putting too many options only available through there. Short term is kind of > messy. Galeon development is not stalled at all. And lead developer leave to make epiphany browser (available as epiphany-browser package).
