What has happened to gnome-audio?

Hello,

I just wondered why the gnome-audio packages is not in gnome 2.x. On
ftp.gnome.org I cannot find any version higher than 1.4.0, same for
Debian. I like having some acoustic feedback from my box therefore I
wonder what the status of the package is.
