In case somebody wants to know my opinion on this (nobody wants, I know ;-)):
I think if we want to deliver the best distribution we can to our users
we should do something about the menu situation. Our menu system really sucks
compared to any other out there.
We don't have nice icons on the items and there is no translation. I know
both should be possible. I tried once and failed.
Back on track regarding the Gnome menu - I think we should make our menu
utility aware of the Gnome menus and include them automatically so that
the maintainer does not need to add another menu file while the application
has a Gnome menu included. This way we can also leave out the Gnome
applications from the Debian menu of the Panel so there is no duplication
anymore.
