indeed, apologies for the delay.

I'm battling a linking issue here on a few architectures that I haven't
gotten to the bottom of yet.

I was thinking, I could open up an 'experimental' branch and upload a
version with your change merged to experimental, without possibly
impeding work on unstable and the migration to testing, right?

Would that work for you? It would still need to clear NEW so better to
get started on that sooner than later.
