Just want to highlight that #924115 is a totally different case, it's
about two packages share the same upstream and same version, not fork.

For fork problem, the desired way is to convince the author to use the
origin one, and send modifications to upstream.

If the fork is needed anyway, I think you can do what you think is convenient.
