The list of directories scanned by ldconfig should include 
/usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu either in 
/etc/ld.so.conf.d/x86_64-linux-gnu.conf or as a separate file. This is needed 
as libraries built and installed using cmake and the GNUInstallDirs package 
install there.
