Bug#517360: programs fail with ../sysdeps/posix/getaddrinfo.c:1457: rfc3484_sort Assertion .. failed
Package: libc6
Version: 2.9-3
Severity: important
Note, this happens to me with python, sudo and several other programs
$ sudo
sudo: ../sysdeps/posix/getaddrinfo.c:1463: rfc3484_sort: Assertion
`src->results[i].native == -1 || src->results[i].native == a2_native'
failed.
Aborted
Googling around I found that this is bug 317824 in ubuntu
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/317824
As in the report I can fix it by commenting out a few lines in
/etc/hosts.
