Bug#34538: odd behaviour of daemons after glibc 2.1 upgrade
Package: libc6
Version: 2.1.1-0pre1
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
After I upgraded my test box to glibc 2.1, many things in running
programs broke. For example the following two entries in daemon.log
made it so that it couldn't be fixed remotely:
Mar 13 19:24:12 kitchen sshd[5597]: log: Connection from 204.122.30.2 port 1023
Mar 13 19:24:12 kitchen sshd[5597]: log: Could not reverse map address 204.122.30.2.
Mar 13 19:24:19 kitchen sshd[5597]: fatal: Connection closed by remote host.
Mar 13 19:25:11 kitchen inetd[5596]: getpwnam: root: No such user
Things are fine now that I've restarted all the daemons. Rather
annoying though. Unfortunately, I don't have another box that I can
test this on. My development boxes need to stay at glibc 2.0 and the
rest are production boxes using slink.
