Unfortunately this is a correct assessment.

I used "just" because all we have to and can do is wait.

Unfortunately yes again.

I'd love to continue with the other new osmium packages that are waiting
for libosmium to pass NEW, but I can also appreciate this time to work on
other packages.

As long as we don't introduce new binary packages once libosmium passes
NEW those subsequent uploads will be automatically accepted, so there
won't be any delays then.

The delay caused by slow NEW processing is highly frustrating indeed.

During the jessie development cycle it only took between a day and two
weeks to get binary NEW (only new binary packages, not entirely new source
packages) packages processed.

It's looks like we're headed that way again, but we're not there yet.
