As mentioned in the SpatiaLite thread [1] we need to get the gdal
transition moving again to get the spatialite_init_ex() support in GDAL.
We have GDAL 1.11.2 in experimental for a while now, and thanks to Johan
it made its way into Ubuntu already too. To make room for GDAL 2.0 in
experimental we need to get 1.11.2 into unstable.
The gdal package gained some new reverse dependencies in the mean time:
gazebo, mysql-workbench, pprepair, prepair & qmapshack. Only the first
two are not maintained within the Debian GIS team.
vtk6 6.2.0 was not possible to build because of changes to the upstream
source in the git repository. The 6.1.0 version in unstable built fine
though.
The first package to fail was osgearth, both 2.5.0 & 2.6.0. The issue
looks unrelated to gdal, but will need to be addressed in time for the
transition.
