The typo patches were forwarded, and applied upstream yesterday. See:

There is also an issue about the inclusion of precompiled Python
objects in the upstream tarball, but the proper fix is not yet clear. See:

The Debian GIS infrastructure is limited to hosting the source
packaging in git. The binary packages built from the grass70 and
grass71 source packages still need to be hosted on Launchpad, Debian
has no PPAs still.
I'd like the Debian GIS git repository to be used by upstream
developers and derivative distributions to collaboratively maintain
the source packages.
