More testing: I just downloaded the OSGEO-Edu-2008.0.iso from OSGEO and it works fine in 4 different machine: 1 mac and 3 laptops. The FOSS4G-2008-LiveDVD-Alpha1.iso instead present the login issue.. more info on the building process of the Alpha1?
