No doubt about that. We even discussed it at the Debian GIS bofh
during debconf, and my proposal to solve it is to post regular (as in
several times a year) status updates to the debian-announce or
debian-devel-announce list. We even started
<URL:http://wiki.debian.org/DebianGis/StateOfTheMap> to have a place
to draft such status reports.
