It doesn't need to be perfect but it *does* need to be decent enough to
pass the NEW queue.  The most recent attempts havn't been anywhere near
that.  Indeed, the original postgis 1.0 version really shouldn't have
gone into unstable, imv...  Attempting to NMU what's there would surely
be a bad idea.  Replacing it might not be.  If you're curious, take a
look at what's been committed to the DebianGIS CVS repo for PostGIS...
