Yes, this was fixed in 1.3. There are a couple of lintian errors that
Petter would like addressed before he sponsors the upload:

  W: gdal source: out-of-date-standards-version 3.6.1
  E: libgdal1.3.1-1-dev: lengthy-symlink usr/include/gdal ../include

And the package names need to be changed to the agreed on format.
