The author of r.terraflow has just pointed out to me that r.terraflow 
already uses mkstemp() in raster/r.terraflow/IOStream/lib/src/ami_stream.cc


So there is no problem and Debian is fine to build the r.terraflow module
via the './configure --with-cxx' flag?
