[5.7.0]

Great to see..

With respect to an earlier question about which version of 5.7 should be
used, I would say that depends on how often the maintainers wish to put
one out. There is a CVS snapshot created weekly, and point versions are
fairly rare. (note 5.3.1 and 5.4.0 should be released within weeks)

For now I think 5.7.0 is a good starting point, although it is almost
four months old now. In future, definitely pull from a cvs snapshot if
there hasn't been a new point version, the question is how often? twice
a year? four times a year? I guess it depends on how much work it takes
the maintainers to get one out.

Note the 4 times a year option would already be a newer cvs version than
5.7.0; 12 weeks is pretty short if everything must be done by hand. Ok
if you have good scripts.

As for should 5.3(5.4) be packaged? If 5.4 (2 weeks away??) can be made
stable for Sarge, I'd say go for it as 5.0 is very old now and 5.3/4 has
*many* improvements; if not in time, maybe it is better to focus all
energy on 5.7+.
