Hello Dietmar,
i can't help you with plith, but you might want to have a look in
/var/log/plinth, and take a look at the log file.
The apt errors usually are caused by outdated mirrors, or mirrors with
broken files. Try a different mirror.
You might want to think about using httpredir, see:
http://httpredir.debian.org/
for more information on how to do that.
Be aware however, httpredir seems not to use ssl-encrypted connections,
so in my opinion, it's a good idea to tunnel apt through tor when using
httpredir.
