Yes, Cubietruck is not Open Source Hardware.  It is a good consideration
for us because of its free firmware (for our use case).

Thanks for the link.  The board refused to talk to me with USB power.
It blinked orange (low battery warning) with power given through 5V
power barrel.  My usual reliable 5V/2A power supply does not have the
right jack.  I will buy a new one or a conversion jack this weekend.
