I am a great fan of the freedombox project but am working on my own
(cerowrt), which is more focused on the bufferbloat problem than
anything else. It had been so long since I booted my openrd that I
ended up giving it away....
However:
Cerowrt does adhoc mesh networking out of the box using ahcp and the
babel routing protocol over ipv6 and ipv4. I wouldn't mind at all if
freedombox added this capability, too. (another interesting mesh
protocol is batman-adv)
And further off topic:
What kernel are you on? Recently we got out codel and fq_codel based on
van jacobson's and kathie nichols latest work, but it needs BQL
support in the ethernet driver, at least, which I'd be willing to do
for the kirkwood driver if you are running Linux 3.3 or later, and
someone could test.
