[Freedombox-discuss] Interesting plug computer from Marvell

Hi Folks,

On www.linuxfordevices.com i stumbled on this interesting new device:

http://www.linuxfordevices.com/c/a/News/Marvell-SMILE-Plug/

Here are some specs:

On the SMILE Plug, the Armada 300 (2 GHz) is joined with the Marvell
Avastar 88W8764 Wi-Fi chipset, and is accompanied by 512MB each of DDR3
RAM and flash memory, says Marvell. The device -- which, like other Plug
Computer designs can plug directly into a wall socket -- features dual
gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB 2.0 ports, and an SD card slot
supporting up to 32GB, says the company.

And interesting:

The SMILE Plug acts as a Linux-based Wi-Fi access point and server,
creating a "micro cloud" within a classroom. The micro-server approach
is said to eliminate the problem of inconsistent Internet access within
classrooms.

Cheers,
Rob.
