Hi folks, I've just pushed an important update to the plugserver setup
scripts for the Tor server. If you have set up a Tor server, you should
pull the changes and set up Tor all over again.
Technical details:
- - Due to an oversight, I forgot to specify a default exit policy. For
Tor servers configured as relays the default Tor exit policy applies,
which is an unacceptable risk for end-users. Therefore, I've added
the following line to the standard relay configuration:
ExitPolicy reject *:*
- - This does not affect Tor servers configured as end-nodes.
If you'd like to debate me in why nodes should be internal-routers by
default, that's fine, but I wanted to get this sent out before I spent
the several hours required to write a well-worded justification of my
decision.
