The limit is the affordability. A 130 USD 5 W device will see
far wider deployment than a 300 USD 50 W device.

In a few years you should be able to get ~1 GHz ARM
quadcores with some 1 GByte RAM for that price and
power footprint. That should be able to handle JVM 
along with heavyweight things.
