[Freedombox-discuss] Diaspora

That was an interesting article on Diaspora - but I didn't see any mention
of security.

Taking that post on face value (which I assume may have been simplified for
clarity) it would seem that I can query pods to fish for users and extract
the information contained in the hcards.

It also seems that all pods trust and share with all other pods. I think
what I'd like to see is the pods themselves building trust relationships to
form clusters of pods that become independent networks. So for example, I
might like to join the free software network, or an environmental politics
network, but not want to share or be part of the neo natzi far right network
that is being built by others.

Comments welcomed :)

Btw thanks for an incredibly interesting and informative list. The
freedombox project is very exciting work. I am a sys admin and lamp
developer, although not well versed in debian lore. I hope to be able to
contribute as the project progresses, but for now I will just read and
follow the debates to learn more.
