Welcome!

I for one have never heard of it. Looks quite promising!

Please see here for how to get upstream software integrated into Debian
(which is a requirement for it to be part of the Debian ecosystem:

http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting

...and here if you are confused about what you can/must do yourself:
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/freedombox-discuss/2011-January/000347.html

NB! I carefully did *not* say "requirement for Freedombox" above, as
your are welcome to create a FreedomBox using FreeDOS on a PalmPilot -
just don't expect me to collaborate with you on that. :-)

Some (i.e. most, I assume) of us on this list use Debian as the platform
for our systems, and intend to use it also as the platform for
FreedomBox. A smaller fraction of us know how to engineer those pesky
".deb" thingies that is the building blocks of Debian itself.

You need not be an official Debian Developer or even learn how to do
Debian packaging to collaborate on this FreedomBox project - but in a
Debian-based system, any and all code needs to be in a package, and
above URLs describe how to start the process of that.

Kind regards,

  - Jonas
