[Freedombox-discuss] The FB Base system

Hey Guys and gals,

I have updated the wiki with a liste of what the base system should include
and what software should be on top. Now that a couple of people are working
on getting a base system running (Like I am) I think we should talk about
what that system should include as standart and what should be plugins that
the user can install at will. I have used some of the stuff from the ML to
create the list and added my own, so it is not at all a complete list.

My base system list includes debian lenny (stable) because I am one of those
paranoid people who like a stable release when I run a server then a lot of
experimental features. I don't really see a easy way to make it the users
choice what debian version to run as base so if many people think we should
run squeeze we can change it.
People could include the projects that they want support for on the list and
then we can discuss what the base system should include on the this list.
The main reason I think the plugin solution is the best is because we can
develop in parallel on the projects we want to run on our server and only
need to agree the base system. It is free as in freedom ;)

Cheers,
Christian
