Comments:

* there is no .orig.tar.gz, you need to provide one or repackage it

* best would be to have an "upstream" branch and a "pristine-tar" branch

for debian/changelog:
* you cannot produce a Debian internal package, you need a Debian 
  version like
    1.53-1
  (the -1 part)

* you cannot specify "stable" as release, packages need to enter via
  "unstable"

other:
* you should file a ITP bug report first, see
  https://wiki.debian.org/ITP

* where are TeX/Lua files?
  Do you develop these? What is "upstream"? 

Please take this into account and update the git repository.

Please report when you have updated the git repository, I will check
then.
