And again, this time the OOM killer targetted apache processes.

Something with root permissions is running away with lots of memory. I'd
be glad if someone could look into that. I've added another gigabyte of
memory for the time being, but obviously that's not a solution.

In general, the machine seems to need cleanup. I've tried to do a clean
shutdown when adding the memory, but gave up after waiting five minutes.

There also ought to be some kind of mechanism in place that tells any
build chroots that they are not supposed to start mailer daemons. -_-
