Package: org-mode Version: 8.3.2-1 Severity: normal Exporting as ODT does not work, because org-odt-data-dir is set by default to /usr/share/emacs/etc/org, while the relevant files are installed in /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/org-mode/etc/styles/ Either org-odt-data-dir should be set to the latter directory, or the files installed in the former. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers trusty-updates APT policy: (500, 'trusty-updates'), (500, 'trusty-security'), (500, 'trusty'), (100, 'trusty-backports'), (90, 'xenial-updates'), (90, 'xenial') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.19.0-42-generic (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages org-mode depends on: ii emacs24 24.4+1-4ubuntu1 ii emacsen-common 2.0.8 Versions of packages org-mode recommends: ii texlive-generic-recommended 2015.20151116-1ubuntu1 ii texlive-latex-recommended 2015.20151116-1ubuntu1 Versions of packages org-mode suggests: pn ditaa <none> ii texlive-fonts-recommended 2015.20151116-1ubuntu1 ii texlive-latex-extra 2015.20151225-2 -- no debconf information

Upstream Org-mode states that they only support the last couple Emacs releases, so I think that it's likely that an Emacs that is new enough for elpa-org will also have necessary ODT-support files that are new enough, yes, this might not always be the case, but a backwards-incompatible ODT change will require a manual intervention for elpa-org to adapt to this hypothetical case. Given that these xml files have not changed at all between the Emacs shipped with bookworm and the current release of Org-mode, I think it's reasonable to use upstream's fixed default 'org-odt-data-dir'. I'm happy to see it works by default now! Best, NicholasAttachment: signature.asc
