So I tried that, and it reduces the number of failed tests in the build
from:

   FAILED  rg-integration-test/project-root
   FAILED  rg-integration/dwim-search
   FAILED  rg-integration/project-search
   FAILED  rg-integration/rg-executable-results-buffer
   FAILED  rg-integration/rg-executable-through-rg-run
   FAILED  rg-unit/isearch-project

To:

   FAILED  rg-integration/rg-executable-results-buffer
   FAILED  rg-integration/rg-executable-through-rg-run

But, oddly, it doesn't affect the autopkgtest suite which still fails
all the tests. I've also tried excluding the failing tests in
debian/elpa-test but that doesn't seem to have any effect, neither on
the build or the autopkgtest suite.

Stomped.
