I have work in progress [1] that fixes the
byte-compilation. Unfortunately that seems to reveal another bug with
the maintainer scripts that bbdb-autoload.elc is not being generated.
That feels like a different bug to me, but I'd need more testing to be
sure.

I'm downgrading the severity of this bug, as it only affects users
without emacs25 installed, and I suspect that's a minority.
