As with the other changes, Mike will have to answer what changes are acceptable to be backported. This wouldn't include any functional changes other than the possible removal of the aforementioned actions, so there is not much benefit for bookworm. It is however important for trixie since it could ship a systemd release without sysv-init compatibility¹.
