We definitely need libpacparser1 (rather "pactester") in Debian Edu.
Or something similar.

Please put your removal request on hold or drop it entirely. I am
happy to invest some time in this.

Or do you know of an alternative way to analyze wpad files?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The removal is already on hold due
to there being a reverse depends. I don't know about other ways to anyalze
wpad files. My interest in this is strictly related to archive hygiene and
moving the python2-rm process along.

I'm marking the rm bug as done based on this feedback. I'll go ahead with my
NMU to drop python2 support. Since debian-edu is interested in the package, I strongly recommend you consider adopting it because it's clearly unmaintained.
I'll leave the bug against debian-edu open as a reminder (feel free to close
it if that's not useful).

Thanks for doing the NMU for now. I will add this thing to my list, but will not get to it before the next month or so.

Currently, it seems that pacparser has not been orphaned, yet. There was this salvage procedure discussed earlier. I'll check if that is common practice these days and start the process of friendly take over.

Greets,
Mike
