IIRC, Xreset isn't used in all cases, e.g. GNOME. Also with Wayland on 
its way, Xreset might be abandoned in other cases as well.

Maybe libpam-script could be used to do same magic upon logout.

IIRC mostly, but not completely. Someone with real world deployments 
would know better.
