Hi, > Maybe because Edubuntu meta-packaging is better than that of DebianEdu. > However this is just my opinion. Everybody is free to have his opinion. Umm… I might have to remind you that until yesterday, you did not even seem to know that there is Debian Edu :D. I doubt you had the time to find out that any of the two “is better”. > I'd prefer to use Edubuntu rather than DebianEdu, and of course you don't > even want to hear anything about Ubuntu. Well, if you want to use Edubuntu, you can use Edubuntu. If you want to use Debian Edu, you can use Debian Edu. The question was: Why would you port the one to the other? If there are shortcomings in Debian's educational meta-packages, you can raise them as bugs or discuss them - but you should not try to introduce a replacement, even less call it debian-edu-*. By the way, you failed to answer any of my questions - above all the one about what kind of GSoC proejct in Debian we are talking about, and what that GitHub repo possibly has to do with it. Cheers, Nik
