Hi Nik,

I can?t answer on how X is started on a default system. I?m basically
using a default installation of DebianEdu Stretch. I haven?t configured
anything special incl. Xwrapper. I?m not sure if xserver-xorg-legacy is
installed by default or needed.

I tried session Xorg and after maybe two minutes the following is shown:

connecting to sesman ip 127.0.0.1 port 3350
sesman connect ok
sending login info to session manager, please wait?
login successful for display 10
started connecting
connection problem, giving up
some problem

Kind regards,
Roman
