Bug#868823: debian-edu: Please drop depedency on pulseaudio-esound-compat

Source: debian-edu
Version: 1.924
Severity: wishlist
User: pkg-gnome-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: esd-removal

Esound has been deprecated for a while, and nowadays most software uses
pulseaudio directly. Please drop the dependency on the esound module if
possible.

The gnome team wants to remove esound for buster, and it would be nice
to be able to remove the compat module from pulseaudio too.

ltsp-server metapackage depends on the compat module, but no real
package names are mentioned in chanelog or task definition, but my guess
is that since 2009 (when the dep was added) a lot has changed and thus
it is no longer needed.

Saludos
