IIRC only one of our > supported DEs contains icedove / thunderbird by default. I've only changed icedove to thunderbird in that commit, so your suggestion is an actual change to our configuration. (I'm not saying we shouldnt do it, just pointing out that this is a real change.) I believe historically we thought that people would use kmail on kde desktops and this is why things are the way they are now.
