Package: lxde-common Version: 0.99.1-1 Severity: normal User: debian-edu@lists.debian.org Usertags: debian-edu Hi, while testing Debian Edu Stretch artwork with the LXDE desktop we saw a squashed background image; see: https://jenkins.debian.net/job/g-i-installation_debian-edu_stretch-daily-netinst_standalone_lxde/32/ as opposed to Xfce showing the image as it should be: https://jenkins.debian.net/job/g-i-installation_debian-edu_stretch-daily-netinst_standalone_xfce/47/ Same way the squashed stock Debian 8 lines image is shown on a monitor with 4:3 aspect ratio, so this is nothing Debian Edu specific. It seems to be that the LXDE setting for pcmanfm is causing it. From /etc/xdg/pcmanfm/LXDE/pcmanfm.conf: [desktop] wallpaper_mode=1 wallpaper=/etc/alternatives/desktop-background desktop_bg=#000000 desktop_fg=#ffffff desktop_shadow=#000000 IMO the setting should rather be 'wallpaper_mode=crop'. According to man pcmanfm 'crop' means 'stretch and crop to fill monitor', which seems to be a better fit. Regards, Wolfgang
