This is supposed to be unneeded. LDM uses the system default locale as 
its default. So maybe something got messed up.

To set the system default locale, 'dpkg-reconfigure locales' should be 
used. (And 'ltsp-chroot -m -a i386 dpkg-reconfigure locales' for the 
LTSP chroot.)
