Setting up thin client server - login problem

Sorry if this duplicates an earlier post, I used the wrong email account.

We are working to install Skolelinux and have successfully created a
test Main Server (not including LTSP), added a couple of users and
joined a Windows laptop to the network.

Next we created a separate LTSP server named "ictroom", and edited
/etc/network/interfaces to give it a fixed IP of 10.0.0.2, also added
dns-nameserver, dns-search and gateway entries. We entered the details
of "ictroom" in Gosa2 Systems page, and activated the thin client
machine: both machines can now ping the other by name.

We can login to "ictroom" but the users' home directories do not
appear to be exported. Instead we see this message:

"Cannot enter home directory. Using /"

Have we missed out a step? Many thanks for any pointers where to look.
