new artwork for squeeze - work in progress
Hi,
stay tuned for the full report of the Debian Edu gathering in Hamburg last
week, but here is a little teaser to show you something great which was done
there. Christoph Muetze joined us and started working on new artwork for
Debian Edu squeeze, have a look at:
www.pixelz.de/stuff/2011_06_08_Debian_Edu_Wallpaper2.zip
www.pixelz.de/stuff/2011_06_08_Debian_Edu.zip
As this is still work in progress, comments and feedback is very much
appreciated and will be taken into consideration for! And Christoph is not
only an awesome artist but also subscribed to this very mailinglist :-)
So, have a look and share what you think. But hurry up, the work shall be
completed soon, so that we can include it in a new version of the debian-edu-
artwork package ASAP.
Christoph, there is one thing for you to think about still - or maybe not:
under which licence do you plan to release your artwork? Is GPL2+ fine for
you?
cheers,
Holger
P.S.: the tux-penguin with the cap and the backpack is gone. For one simple
reason: three things are not allowed in (most, many, all?) schools in Norway
(we were told): cigarettes, chewing gum and caps. No matter what you think of
this, its clearly not a good idea for us to have a masqot which is not allowed
to enter school ;)
