After installation, you are not able to log in in KDE using root account and
you have no other account to use. Probably a normal user account should be made
during the installation, as done in ordinary Debian installation.

How to "bootstrap" this is not mentioned in the documentation either
(http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Documentation/Lenny/GettingStarted), at least
not more then "add local user account" without any instructions)..
