Re: Status Gosa-Netgroups / Skolelinux presentation in Kiel

I'll look at the netgroup plugin tomorrow. Is there any plan or idea in progress?

Thanks.

Hi Mike, who is developing the plugin?
Which is the state of the plugin?

I could help (very limited by actual work load), but I can.

Thanks.

This is great news. If I understand your context correctly, you have already done quite a bit of GOsa development. So this is a great offering for us.

What we will need for Debian Edu squeeze (minimal requirements) is a plugin for netgroups handling of hostnames:

o manage netgroups objects (create, delete, rename etc. a netgroup) in LDAP

o on the host's administration page: add the host to an existing netgroup

The goal is to have a patch draft working in May/June 2011.

A great help would already be if you could give a hint on what current GOsa plugin could serve as a template for creating such a netgroups plugin.

I know that a generic netgroup plugin should support the full range of NIS netgroup functionality, but currently Debian Edu has only need for the hostname part. Thus, the development should start as generic as possible but our focus currently whould only be host management for netgroups.

Thanks + Greets,

Mike
