[Bug 1414] New: gnash is not recognized as a"correct version of flash player"

http://bugs.skolelinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1414

Summary: gnash is not recognized as a"correct version of flash
                    player"
           Product: Skolelinux
           Version: lenny-test
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: debian-edu-install
        AssignedTo: debian-edu@lists.debian.org
        ReportedBy: klaus@skolelinux.no

It seems with lenny-test that gnash is installed as the "flash"-player, well,
that player does not work on sites such as news.bbc.co.uk and viten.no, both
very popular in schools.

On http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/8445628.stm it just says "Cannot
play media. You do not have the correct version of the flash player." and gives
you a link to adobe.

On
http://www.viten.no/vitenprogram/vis.html?prgid=uuid%3A01ADF27D-25F2-2E29-FB6C-000005B0A038&tid=1065530&grp=
it just gives a strange message about not functioning properly.

While I think it's great that gnash is up and running, I beleive that it's a
bad choice including it, since it only "appears" to play the flash stuff
properly. Imho it's better to leave it out, and point the users to the already
existing documentation on how to install adobes flashplayer,
http://wiki.debian.org/FlashPlayer

This sure is a sour apple to bite.
