CipUX is now (in most parts[1])part of Debian Sid and Squeeze, and have been backported for Lenny.

The code is packaged, and config files directly usable by Skolelinux setup of LDAP should be available, but neither have yet been extensively tested.

It would be awesome if more people would try out CipUX, even if you feel gosa is a better tool for Skolelinux: Your knowledge on the alternatives and critical input could be highly valuable for improving CipUX even if deemed unsuitable for Skolelinux use :-)

If interested, please join and/or follow the discussion at http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/cipux-devel

Alternative, I am sure that someone will post a nice summarized HOWTO to this list when (presumably at the end of this week) available after cash-testing it a bit ourselves.

Kind regards,

Jonas

Main package maintainer for CipUX in Debian.

[1] Core parts of CipUX backend business logic is packaged, as is XML/RPC server and CAT-Web user interface. Still missing are some add-on modules e.g. for Samba integration and yearly schoolclass name bumping, and an alternative (AJAX-enabled, I believe) web user interface called CATweasel.
