[Bug 1402] Partitioning silently fail when the disk is too small, leading to failing installation

even though minimum disk requierements are documented, I think this should be
fixed (maybe in squeeze only) and the user warned, if the choosen disk is too
small, instead of failing silently.

please note that making this bug p2 doesnt mean we have to fix it for +edu1. it
was present in +edu0 and is documented, so while it is absolutly annoying, it's
still not the end of the world and we should concentrate on stuff that really
matters. disks are cheap and big nowadays, after all.
