[Bug 1371] DVD: installation hangs, needs ctrl-c to continue

--- Comment #37 from Petter Reinholdtsen <pere@hungry.com> 2009-12-13 09:37:54 ---
When working on ltsp-make-client, I discovered that the installation would hang
if I asked tasksel to use debconf-apt-progress even if I used --no-progress. I
rewrote this to use aptitude directly to avoid the problem.

Because of this, I had a theory that the same could be the issue here when I
discovered debconf-apt-progress running as part of the LTSP chroot build
process. I tracked it down to apt-install in d-i, and rewrote it to use
apt-get directly. Unfortuntately, it did not help.

Just wanted to mention it here to document what has been tested, and perhaps
give others ideas on what to do next.

I've tried to track down where the message about debconf-get originates, but
have not been successful so far.
