on the version i had that was a directory. hence the error, 
rm: cannot remove `/usr/share/doc/debian-edu-doc/en': Is a directory
not sure if that was from my current version or something left over from a
previous one. ? 


I fixed it by editing portrm and saying rm -rf /usr/share/doc/debian-edu-doc/en

perhaps check if it's a directory and use -r in that case ?
