Hi Ole,

first of all I have to admint, that I didn't understand what "signage"
stands for (and took it for a misspelled signature). But watching xibo,
and then looking up dict.leo.org, it looks like you want to install what
we call a "info display" here: Just to save people from the hard work of
pinning printouts of the supply schedule (substitution table) to
blackboards, schools start installing large TFT screens that display
what is going on...

If this is what you mean, we started a corresponding page in the German
wiki: http://wiki.skolelinux.de/VerwaltungsSoftware/InfoDisplay

What we do here, is
- on server side: install a CMS like Joomla! and setup a neat page
- teach administrative editors how to use the CMS.
- setup clients to start firefox in full page mode, opening your CMS.
- additionally we use htaccess passwords to make sure that the page
  is only used at school.

There was a disussion if Skolelinux could provide such service out of
the box - but nobody had the time && ability to do so.

Regards
Ralf
